LFT |Long fiber thermoplastics

LFT, long fiber thermoplastic materials fill the gap between standard injection molding materials and carbon fiber compression molding materials. The injection molding process injects the long fiber thermoplastics which formes an internal structural fiber skeleton. The resulting component is very strong, rigid and impact resistant. Long fiber thermoplastic materials are often used as a metal replacement. furthermore, LFT components can be welded, recycled and have a very low creep.. LFT long fiber thermoplastics allow for the development of thick wall components.

The newest LFT developments are based on class, carbon fiber hybrids. These new materials allow for the development of components with a Young’s modulus up to 28.000 – 30.000 MPa.
